NHSX is leading the largest digital health and social care transformation programme in the world. With investment of more than £1 billion pounds a year nationally and a significant additional spend locally, NHSX has been created to give staff and citizens the technology they need.
We are looking for an experienced Digital leader to lead NHSX’s mission to reduce barriers and enable the adoption and scaling of digital innovation across the NHS and in Social Care.
To achieve that goal, you will develop an unparalleled understanding of the healthtech sector, developing strong relationships with innovators, representative groups such as TechUK, and other entities working to accelerate the spread of new technologies and new ways of working into the NHS – such as the Academic Health Science Networks, the NHS Innovation Accelerator, and others. Using your knowledge and networks, you will develop a wide range of policies and programmes to support the healthtech community and to drive the uptake of innovative digital technologies.
These might include managing competitive funds, providing access to funding for promising early-stage companies, or delivering regulatory or procurement reforms. The specific activities will be shaped by your understanding of the market, the system, and their combined needs.
The output of this work will be improved patient care, a better working experience for staff, and increased productivity for the NHS and social care sector.
You will also oversee the Partnerships, Engagement and Communications function for NHSX, ensuring that we get key messages to stakeholders in an effective and helpful way.
Strong leadership skills will be key as well as high quality strategic and systemic thinking. We’re looking for a personable and confident professional who will strive for continuous improvement and innovation. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you value diversity and difference and operate with integrity and openness.
